KNWLS SS25 brought the heat to London Fashion Week. Shown in the old Central Saint Martins building in Holborn last evening, the collection channelled the ghosts of the institution’s past whilst looking forward to fashion’s future. Influenced by many of fashion’s greats – including Azzedine Alaïa and John Galliano – the collection honoured tradition with a sexy KNWLS twist. Treated leather offerings perfectly cinched models’ waists, showcasing the brand’s mastery in sensuous figure-hugging tailoring. Lingerie-inspired corsets and cut-out trousers sang to the brand’s CSM beginnings with gritty elegance. In another ode to the institution, avant-garde fascinators designed by fellow CSM alumn Stephen Jones topped off the collection with a futuristic touch.

Babygirl finally has a UK release date. It’s gonna be a steamy Christmas as the erotic thriller will launch in American theatres on Christmas Day and in the UK and Ireland on 10 January 2025. Premiering at the 2024 Venice Film Festival, the new movie from A24 and Bodies Bodies Bodies director Halina Reijn sees Nicole Kidman play Romy, a CEO who, dissatisfied and starved of an orgasm her whole life, finds satisfaction under the submissive guidance of her intern Samuel, played by Harris Dickinson.

Skepta teased a new song with Kanye during the MAINS SS25 show. Following Kanye’s tease of the song at his Vultures 2 listening party in LA last month, Skepta has now cemented further belief that the collab is coming. Debuted in the middle of the British rapper’s runway show at London Fashion Week – which saw collegiate school-boy looks infused with nostalgic 90s flare – the track is a powerful joining of forces. While fans are dubbing the song “Cash Cow”, an official name for the track and further details of its release are still unconfirmed.

Some of A24’s best horror movies will be back in theatres next month. If you’re in the States, you’re about to have a great spooky season. A24 has teamed up with Regal Cinemas to present ‘An Eerie Series‘ which will bring a host of modern horror classics back into theatres, including The Killing of a Sacred Deer, Hereditary, A Ghost Story and more. The programme will run at over 100 theatres across the country at a discounted price ($8!), because the greatest horror here is, as always, capitalism.

JW Anderson SS25 is more than meets the eye. A quote from the theorist and critic Clive Bell printed on the closing garments of the Irish designer’s SS25 show said it all: “In art the only important distinction is the distinction between good art and bad.” In other words: you win some, you lose some, and JWA definitely won. Shown yesterday at the Old Billingsgate with a picturesque backdrop of Tower Bridge, the collection was all about a whimsical trick of the eye. Fake buttons, pockets and trompe-l’oeil hoodie strings were printed on satin mini dresses while billowing skater skirts were manipulated to hold perfectly in place, sans wind. While in many ways the collection was a more minimalist departure from the designer’s previous seasons, his love for tongue-in-cheek humour and absurdity were, as always, still peppered throughout (see: enormous sculptural silhouettes of knit dresses and puffed-to-the-max bubble skirts).

Charli XCX is busy becoming a movie star. Shortly after she wraps her Sweat tour with Troye Sivan, the pop star will head back to England to make a new film. She’s the latest name to be added to the line-up for Julia Jackman’s feminist folk tale-slash-fantasy, 100 Nights of Hero, in which she’ll star alongside Emma Corrin (star of Robert Eggers’ upcoming Nosferatu) and Longlegs’ Maika Monroe. Based on the graphic novel of the same name, the film is a queer and feminist retelling of a Medieval folktale about a man who gambles with his wife’s freedom – and his castle, obviously. While it’s currently unknown which role Charli will be playing, the film is set to start shooting later this month.

Chaos and imagination rule over practicality for New York’s fashion anarchists Women’s History Museum. Never conventional, the cult brand radically reinterprets the feminine, working with a range of unorthodox materials from shattered glass, coins, teeth, and live (yes, living) doves. In our new interview, founders Mattie Barringer and Amanda McGowan open up about their religious upbringings, the inspirations behind their SS25 collection and their complex relationship with their city.

In only his third season at London Fashion Week, Aaron Esh was, as ever, giving us after party envy. Liquid bias cut dresses dominated the brand’s womenswear offering, wrapped around models’ towering frames, cementing the back as the official new erogenous zone. Buttery leather and silk tailored into the perfect trousers and jackets brought home the designer’s focus on ultra-wearable evening wear, which wouldn’t look out of place at an East London pub, complimented, of course, by the brand’s signature cap.

Wealthy countries in the global north are punishing climate protestors while criticising the handling of similar practices elsewhere, a new study has found. Well, who could have guessed it. A report published by Climate Rights International has found that countries such as Germany, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, the UK and the US have been quick to doll out harsh punitive sentences to climate protestors whilst simultaneously condemning the treatment of protestors in developing countries. The report has called on global governments world to halt their harsh punitive measures and to protect people’s rights to protest.
