If esoteric gallery shows and censorship of female sexuality aren’t your jam, a new exhibition coming to London’s Little Black Gallery is sure to feel fun and refreshing. Girls, Girls, Girls! Vol 3 is the third installment in a photography series that serves as a celebration of the world’s most beautiful women. The exhibition will be light on clothing and heavy on legends. Photos by British greats including Patrick Lichfield, Corinne Day, Mike Figgis, and Bob Carlos Clarke — described as “Britain’s answer to Helmut Newton” — will be shown alongside work by Switzerland’s Bruno Bisang, Italy’s Marco Glaviano, and New York-based Roxanne Lowit. Lowit is something of a local superstar herself, though probably most famous for her decadent photos of 90s supermodels — including the one of Naomi Campbell, Christy Turlington, and Linda Evangelista in a bathtub in Paris.
The new show is full of equally prominent faces including Claudia Schiffer, Stephanie Seymour, and Kate Moss, who poses in Agent Provocateur lingerie in a series of monochromatic stills from the “Dreams of Miss X” series Figgis shot for the brand. Other women such as Alistair Taylor-Young’s swimmer and Carlos Clarke’s masked blonde are certainly no less intriguing in their anonymity.
“Girls! Girls! Girls! Vol 3″ is at The Little Black Gallery, 13A Park Walk, Chelsea, London SW10 0AJ from 20 October through 3 December. www.thelittleblackgallery.com
