Watch… Greta Gerwig’s filmography at the BFI

We’re jumping the gun a little, but tickets for these go fast! In honour of Barbie’s release, London’s BFI have pieced together a season in celebration of its director Greta Gerwig. Among the movies on offer are her A* acting efforts in the likes of Frances Ha and her underseen early movie Hannah Takes the Stairs; as well as her two (non-Barbie) directorial efforts too. The season kicks off mid-July. Buy your tickets here.

At the Edge of the Woods kathryn bromwich

Read… At the Edge of the Woods

Kathryn Bromwich, a writer and editor from London, has spun magic with her debut novel At the Edge of the Woods, a compelling story of a woman who opts to abscond traditional life and move into a cabin in the forests of northern Italy. As leering locals question why she’s there without a man to look after her (the time period is opaque, but we could guess it’s early-mid 20th century), she falls into a carnal, stunning relationship with a local waiter, he too alienated by the town. Impactful and transportive stuff. You can buy it here.

Go to… the new D.S. & Durga store

D.S. & Durga, the makers of the infamous PASTA WATER candle, have just opened a gorgeous new store on Abbott Kinney Boulevard. And what better way to celebrate their first Los Angeles flagship than with an in-store exclusive candle inspired by its location? PACIFIC MYTHIC is the brand’s East Coast take on California — all sunshine, palm trees and luscious blooms. Learn more about it here.

Go to… the Ray-Ban SUNDAY party

Summer is finally here! What better way to celebrate the heatwave and upcoming end of the world (climate change, baby) than with a rooftop party at The Standard with the good people of Ray-Ban. The brand are hosting a bash to give a little something back to their loyal customers; think summer solstice vibes, with BBC1Xtra DJ Tiffany Calver and guests, and a free pair of sunnies for everyone who signs up for a ticket. A party favour to trek to the top floor of a hotel for, truly.
