    Go to… Block9 at Glastonbury

Block9, Glastonbury’s beloved late-night area, has just announced a killer line-up for its 2023 iteration. To celebrate turning sweet 16, The NYC Downlow, The Meat Rack, IICON and Genosys Sound System will once again play host to the most eclectic, subversive, hypnotic, histrionic sounds of the weekend. Featuring Underground Resistance (Live), Timmy Regisford (Shelter – NYC), Analog Soul, Cakes Da Killa, Mood II Swing, The Blessed Madonna, and Notting Hill Carnival. “At Block9, we have always championed underground music, freedom and self-expression, and our 16th birthday feels the perfect occasion to celebrate our ‘coming-of-age’ with our Glastonbury family,” Gideon Berger and Stephen Gallagher, Block9 co-founders, say. “In the last few years, our freedoms and our right to protest have come under sustained attack. The creation of new draconian laws means our liberty is being systematically eroded. Block9’s 16th birthday party is a stand against right-wing populism, and a celebration of all things alt!”

Go to… Primavera’s Boiler Room x CUPRA Stage

Festi season may have well and truly kicked off last weekend in the UK, but the more vitamin D-inclined amongst us are left searching for a more reliable source of sun. So, how about a festival abroad? One in Spain? One with an impeccable track record for enviable line-ups? That’s right, Primavera Sound is back – this time taking place in Barcelona AND Madrid – and you’re highly likely to find the i-D team down at the Boiler Room x CUPRA stage, which is returning for its second stint. This year’s iteration promises “an immersive experience in a space made by and for dance in all its forms” – with DJ sets from some of the very best out there, including Mura Masa, Yves Tumour, Crystallmess and Channel Tres. Beats, beers, hangovers on beautiful beaches… what more could you ask for? DB

Go to… Somerset House Summer Series

This summer’s 11-night concert series at Somerset House features an intriguing mix of sounds from across the world. French psych-rock collective La Femme, desert blues pioneers from Mali, Tinariwen, and Scottish alternative-art-pop-indie (ultimately indefinable) rockers Young Fathers are just some of the names on the bill. A suitably thoughtful line-up to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the event. Running between the 6 and 16 of July, book tickets here.

    Wear… a SS23 Gentle Fullness tee

Story mfg sister company Gentle Fullness are launching their new season T-shirt capsule collection this week. To celebrate, they’re throwing a party at Goodhood – swing by the Shoreditch store for cold beers, good music and early access to the brand’s famously good graphic tees.

    Buy… tickets to WHP23

The line-up for Warehouse Project’s 2023 event series has been announced and tickets are now officially on sale. Kicking off with their infamous opening night, Repercussion, on 16 September, acts including Bicep, Moderat, Kerri Chandler, Jyoty, Shy One, Jayda G, Biig Piig, Yung Singh and more will unite The Depot in hedonistic reverie once more. Tickets for WHP’s other nights throughout September have also been released. Grab them while you can here.

    vetements heat

    Buy… HEAT featuring Vetements archive

The daring, Demna-designed days of Vetements were some of the most salacious and talked about in contemporary fashion. You can still recognise them today when you see them on the street. If you’re envious of those who snagged some of those pieces, fear not – they’re available again as part of the cultish luxury fashion mystery box HEAT. Comprised of pieces released between 2016 and 2022, you can pre-order yours from UPPFIRST now, or grab it from the HEAT website from 14 June here.
