Happy Monday! The new week is here and with it comes the chance to delve deep into some fresh culture and fashion. Here’s your latest look at the i-D Guide.

Wear… The Row’s Carlisle selvedge jeans
The Row make denim with the same kind of care and precision that Porsche make cars. Only what they do is sexier and more chic. Buy your pair of Carlisle selvedge jeans (£1100) at Matches Fashion here.

Wear… Damson Madder’s new collection
If The Row is a little out of your budget (same, honestly) then check out London brand Damson Madder’s dreamy AW23 collection. Inspired by folklore and school uniforms, it includes Victorian style organic cotton blouses with oversized collars, a whole lot of gingham and knitwear made from recycled plastic bottles. Keep an eye out for their next drop, due early September, for a range of outerwear too. Buy it here.

Buy… a Bottega Veneta laundry basket
Personally, I’m very much over the idea of throwing my clothes into the corner of my bedroom, or stuffing them haphazardly into a sack acquired from IKEA. Instead, I’d like to give my clothes the respect they deserve. Naturally, that means investing in a Bottega laundry basket (£4480). Buy yours here.

Go to…Ibiza!
Start your days off at Playa Soleil. A brand new highlight of Ibiza, Playa Soleil is a beach bar that caters to all. Situated in Playa d’en Bossa, it’s a bohemian paradise where you can soak up the sun on the loungers, swim in the sea and then treat yourself to the mega menu of mussels, jamon and more. The shower in the restaurant is a highlight too (inspired!), where you can pretend to be in a fancy shampoo ad. Meanwhile, the DJ booking for the season moves you from low-key day into late night luxury, from the beach to indoor dance floor.
For day-to-night, head to Pikes. We might be sick of the word iconic, but Pike’s truly is iconic, known for its hedonistic, if still beautiful setting. Make sure to read up on Tony Pike, renowned Ibiza legends and the hotel’s founder. Pikes’ pool is named Club Tropicana, after Wham! filmed the song’s video there in 1983. Need we say more? Its rooms and exterior have been freshly refurbished for 2023, where the magical eccentricities and history of the place are lushly felt. You can also enjoy a good hearty Sunday roast (if you’re missing the UK… which no one does out there truthfully), make sure to book your table there and enjoy it with a refreshing cocktail.
Book tickets well in advance for Elrow, where both the music and visuals explode. It’s hard not to lose yourself in this clubbing fantasy dreamland. Every Saturday at Amnesia, legendary tech house line-ups bring the beats whilst confetti, a rubber chicken (yes, really) and performers swing from the multi-coloured, decorated ceilings. There’s nothing quite like it. Get there early to enjoy the full experience.
Glitterbox at Hï is one of the most freeing and passionate nights you will have there. Think house and disco revelry, enjoyment and looking out for each other on the dancefloor. An LGBTQ+ positive club night that is now international, this night is one of our faves forever. Its inclusive charm and camp create a truly unique experience. Your heart is full and your body hurts after a long night of dancing, but it is worth every single second. Can’t make it to Ibiza? Check out their schedule here for other parties.
The Ibiza experience is not complete if you haven’t danced in DC10’s legendary garden space. And then raved. And raved some more. Note to self, Monday is Circoloco: wear comfy chunky shoes if you don’t want your toes to be stepped on by the crowd.
Naturally, dancing is a part of Ibiza but so is it stunning landscape and food. Check out Maine, a newly opened restaurant where the food is sublime, settings gorgeous and the staff are chicly clad in Yohji-esque clothing. Close to Experimental Beach Club and DC10, this is definitely a pre club spot and post day-time romantic sunset plan. For a romantic early dinner and relaxing greenery. Zitya is your spot.
Now, at some point — you just must sleep in Ibiza. And sleep you shall at The Standard. Located right in the centre of the old town, close to all the taxi joints because there’s no such thing as Uber in Ibiza (support your local services!), the hotel will kindly call one for you — because you’re that VIP. It’s the place to be, so make sure you head to the rooftop at least once for the best Bloody Mary on the island.
What to wear? Ibiza is known for its 70s bohemian fashion. But really — anything goes. As it should! For beach days, the Palace x Crocs collaboration is a must (they’re also perfect for Ushuaia pool party days). Should you choose to go hiking around the island, or simply want to look like you have whilst actually just sipping cocktails in the pool, Arc’teryx trainers are the perfect lewk. It goes without saying that Loewe Paula’s Ibiza ANYTHING is ultimate island chic vibes, so don your bag, sunglasses and your sliders and you are ready to go. The only thing chicer than an Hermes Birkin is an Hermes scarf, so wear a vintage one in whatever mood pleases you == top? Pareo? Headscarf? Waving it in the air at DC10? All of it.
Obviously listen to our i-Conic i-D Podcast: i-Dentity for the episode on how Ibiza changed clubbing forever too, to fully immerse yourself in the nightlife of the island, understanding how it became the epicentre of the club scene globally, and appreciate fully its history whilst wiggling your bum to the oontz oontz of the night.

Listen to… Erin LeCount
Six perfectly-formed songs about girlhood, God, resentment and losing your mind, Soft Skin, Restless Bones is the debut EP from 19-year-old Erin LeCount. FFO: The Virgin Suicides, journalling and very good pop music. Listen here and follow the singer, songwriter and producer on Instagram here.
Listen to… Cautious Clay
A stunning anthropological study of his roots, his family, where he’s from and where he’s going, Cautious Clay’s new record KARPEH sees the heavily co-signed jazz musician operate on a fresh, intriguing creative plane. The whole album using conversations he had with his family members and loved ones as a starting block. Stream it above and follow his Instagram here.

Read… Alone by Daniel Schreiber
Hanya Yanagihara is a fan of Daniel Schreiber’s writing, in particular his new non-fiction book, which unpacks the narrative surrounding solitude and single life. Hanya calls Daniel a “beautiful writer and a beautiful thinker”. Buy it physically (£14.20) here or on eBook.
Watch… Scrapper
A runaway hit at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, Charlotte Regan’s Scrapper is a pastel-coloured kitchen sink drama, brimming with equal doses of optimism and melancholy. Georgie is a 12-year-old girl getting by on her own in her London flat after her mother dies. But when her biological dad turns up, something of a tearaway himself, the pair are forced to find a way to connect. The film is in UK cinemas from 25 August.
