Ah, summer! You spend what feels like all year awaiting its arrival, but almost as soon as it’s here — BOOM! It’s over and done with. We get it – we’re currently wallowing in the post-summer holiday blues, too, struggling to adjust to the sharp transition from poolside lounger to desk chair. Grim as it may seem at first, however, there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic about the return to real life.
That’s the message at the heart of Maison Kitsuné’s ‘Back To’ campaign, a bright celebration of the Parisian brand’s AW22 collection and the optimistic message at its heart. Whether it’s the return to hanging with your mates at school, getting back into shape after a month of lounging about, taking the town by night, or just flaunting your sunkissed glow in the office, there’s plenty to look forward. And, courtesy of Maison Kitsuné, plenty of looks to do all of the above with gusto.
Shot by Marili Andre and fronted by Joyce Cisse – the radiant young London-based musician better known by her stage name, Flowerovlove – we see firsthand how the brand’s new collection brims with versatility, seamlessly transitioning between diverse contexts. Whether she’s sporting a slouchy hoodie – which features a brand new logo decal – to the classroom or fitted cream jersey sweats on the tennis court, a generously cut, caramel virgin wool suit to the office or a long-sleeved merino polo and wide-legged jeans to rock out at home, the precocious 17-year-old musician easily finds a look to suit understatedly cool style.

“My favourite look is by far the preppy cardigan,” Joyce says. “It’s such an essential piece, and it reminds me of returning to school after the summer – you know, being unable to sleep on the night before the first day back because you’re so excited for the start of a new year!” We feel you, Joyce!
Beyond the campaign, Joyce’s sunny disposition beams through in her music, the main message of which is “to spread a message of self-love and blossoming,” she says. “The words that best describe my music are: nostalgic, versatile, gentle and warm.
