Go to… Queer 90s: Cinema from a Decade of Radical Change

Wear… CDLP’s pool wear
June is here. It’s officially time to take your top off and slip into the sea. If you’re looking for swimwear that favours the production process over flashy design, stuff that’s eco-conscious and well made, then look no further than your underwear staples CDLP. Their classic summer-ready selection looks the part too, meaning you won’t have to buy a whole new round of outfits next year. Catch their men’s summer edit here or buy from SSENSE here.
Wear… Tabi Footwear
Looking for an entry point into split-toe living? We’ve found just the thing. Introducing Tabi Footwear, a new Danish brand bringing Scandi simplicity to Japanese functionality. Actually incredibly comfortable, they come in mule, sandal, shoe and boot form — all of which not only enhance the biomechanics of your feet but look seriously great while doing it. Check out the full collection here.

Buy… D.S. & Durga’s Steamed Rainbow
You might have thought the last thing you’d want in summer is a reminder of rain, but D.S. & Durga’s Steamed Rainbow fragrance is a complex and delicate exercise in fragrance making: the manifestation of the scent of a rainbow. Can we describe it? Hardly. But when you lay your hands on it you’ll know. Buy it from Liberty here.

Watch… Dorothy Towers
In 1971, two adjacent tower blocks, intended for social housing, were completed barely a stone’s throw from Birmingham’s gay village. For decades, and all through the AIDS crisis, these two towers felt like the epicentre of queer life there. Now, director Sean Francis Burns is revisiting the history of the towers through a documentary shot on 16mm. You can see it at Auto Italia in London on 17 June at 2pm. By buying your ticket here you’ll donate £5 to Positive East too.

Read… Pageboy
The new memoir from actor Elliot Page has been kept under tight lock-and-key until release date; what it will reveal we’re yet to find out. All we know is Elliot’s journey is a singular one, and we’re intrigued to hear about the way he frames his illustrious career. Buy it here or get the audiobook here.
