    Isamaya Beauty’s Wild Star collection

Snag… Isamaya Beauty’s Wild Star collection

Cult master of makeup Isamaya Ffrench returns with a rodeo-inspired collection titled Wild Star. Comprising pigment palettes, lipsticks, lip liners, mascaras and highlighters, the collection is designed to, in Isamaya’s words, help you “release your inner cowgirl”. While her most recent pieces have been cased in black lacquer-like casing, these pieces shine in gold. You can pre-order the collection from the Isamaya Beauty website ahead of their release in December here.

    Watch… Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

The long-anticipated sequel to the Oscar-winning Black Panther finally arrives this week. With a revised narrative following Chadwick Boseman’s death, this new entry features Letitia Wright’s character Shuri at its centre. We know it has the Rihanna track — Pinkpantheress, Stormzy, and last week’s GUi-DE-featured artist Bloody Civilian also feature — but best to go in blind. It hits cinemas on 11 November.

Read… Weasels in the Attic by Hiroko Oyamada

Hiroshima-based author Hiroko Oyamada follows up her successful previous works, The Hole and The Factory, with this: a labyrinthine novel formed from a triptych of tales about exotic fish store owners, homemakers discovering their new abode has a weasel infestation, and a dinner party trapped in a blizzard. Go to… ALL NIGHT

Inspired by “dance music, sexuality and industrial waste”, as well as the ‘information distribution’ tied intrinsically to club culture, ALL NIGHT is a group show featuring the work of Louis Blue Newby, Eloise Hawser, and Mimi Hope and Ben Galyas. The show attempts to showcase the ways in which this means of communication has warped, and does warp, as time passes. Think fading flyers stomped into club floors, and bleaching as daylight hits them. It runs at Sherbet Green in Hackney from 11 November to 9 December. For more information, head here.

    The We are Family Dance-a-thon

To celebrate its 20th anniversary, The Ali Forney Center in New York — the largest LGBTQ+ community centre in the US who, as part of their mission, help homeless queer youth — are hosting the We are Family Dance-a-thon. The event aims to raise money for the center and those who rely on it by bringing together some of the city’s most vibrant drag collectives and dance troupes at the Knockdown Centre on Flushing Avenue. Its on 20 November, so add it to your calendar now and head here for more details.
