Happy Monday! The new week is here and with it comes the chance to delve deep into some fresh culture and fashion. Here’s your latest look at the i-D Guide.

Wear… Maximilian Davis’ extremely short shorts
While he’s making jaws drop in Milan at Ferragamo, Maximilian Davis’ eponymous brand, built in London, is available to buy already. The Fashion East grad sexes up menswear — case in point, these crotch-grazingly short shorts which the bravest wearer can add to their SSENSE basket now. Buy them here.

Snag… Soleil Blanc by Tom Ford
We’re over winter. We’re clutching onto every morsel of the sun when it splits the sky. We know it’s summer’s not quite here yet, but why not at least pretend? Tom Ford’s Soleil Blanc is the season in a bottle. Buy it here.
Watch… Broker
If you’ve not caught a Kore-eda film before, you can have a look at our guide to getting into his work before you head to the cinema this weekend and see his new offering: Broker. The Japanese director’s latest, set in Korea and starring Parasite’s Song Kang-ho, follows two men who, under the guise of running an adoptive rescue centre for abandoned babies, are actually selling them to desperate would-be parents on the black market. But their souls aren’t as cold as they seem on the surface. It’s in UK cinemas from 24 February.
Listen to… Riovaz
Raised in New Jersey in a sonic diet of Argentinian alt-rock and MJ, Riovaz’s roots have mutated as he’s grown up, become a producer and a vocal artist in his own right. Expect early 00s UK club vibes with a R&B vocal yearning. His EP Disturb the Norm drops on Friday, but in the meantime, stream “U Neva” above and follow his IG here.

Go to… Mike Nelson: Extinction Beckons
Mike Nelson’s structural work feels familiar but eerily off-kilter. Built with salvaged materials from junk yards and flea markets, his globally celebrated work — seen at the Venice Biennale alongside many major galleries — gets its first big British showcase at the Hayward Gallery in London’s Southbank Centre. Check ticket availability for the exhibition, which kicks off on 22 February, here.

See… Graceland
Cultural critic and playwright Ava Wong Davies occupies the upstairs Jerwood Theatre at the Royal Court for the next month with her searing new play. Set in London, it follows the relationship that unfolds between a professionally aimless working class young woman and a man she meets at a barbecue; a finance-bro daddy’s boy. Everything seems lovely until the insidious side becomes more apparent. The result is a confident, evocatively written play about dependency, abuse and how capitalism crushes the contemporary relationship. It plays until 11 March, and you can get your tickets here.

Stay at… The Standard, High Line
Located in New York’s Meatpacking District, The Standard’s High Line hotel gives residents floor-to-ceiling views of the Manhattan skyline or the wide Hudson river. Come for tranquility in the heart of the city, stay for the crazy amenities inside: a German beer garden, an outdoor cocktail bar-cum-bumper car park and — on the top floor — a nightclub open til 4am weekends. Check out room availability here.
