Rosita Missoni, co-founder of Missoni, has died. She founded the Italian fashion house, famed for its expressive and colourful knitwear, in 1953 with her late husband Ottavio. In 1996, after growing their brand from a humble operation in Northern Italy into a global success, the duo began to hand over control of Missoni to their children. Rosita spent her later years living in Varese, Lombardy, in the house she owned with Ottavio. She was a voracious collector of colourful goods she found at flea markets. In an interview with The Guardian in 2022, she said: “I have had the privilege of living a long life.” She was 93.
