In only his third season at London Fashion Week, Aaron Esh was, as ever, giving us after party envy. Liquid bias cut dresses dominated the brand’s womenswear offering, wrapped around models’ towering frames, cementing the back as the official new erogenous zone. Buttery leather and silk tailored into the perfect trousers and jackets brought home the designer’s focus on ultra-wearable evening wear, which wouldn’t look out of place at an East London pub, complimented, of course, by the brand’s signature cap.
Wise words to live by from one of TV’s most fashionable hosts.
Wealthy countries in the global north are punishing climate protestors while criticising the handling of similar practices elsewhere, a new study has found. Well, who could have guessed it. A report published by Climate Rights International has found that countries such as Germany, France, the Netherlands, Sweden, the UK and the US have been quick to doll out harsh punitive sentences to climate protestors whilst simultaneously condemning the treatment of protestors in developing countries. The report has called on global governments world to halt their harsh punitive measures and to protect people’s rights to protest.
This week on i-D we delved into how to get into one of the music industry’s most elusive artists, Dean Blunt, sat down with Industry star Harry Lawtey in a world exclusive to talk about his role as Harvey Dent in the upcoming Joker: Folie à Deux, and took a look inside Rihanna’s favourite designer Jawara Alleyne‘s coveted Bethnal Green studio to discuss the designer’s past, present and future. Very us this weekend.
Grab your towels, the Sweat Tour starts today. High off the back of the release of their “Talk Talk” remix earlier this week, our September cover stars Charli XCX and Troye Sivan will be hitting the road across North America, beginning tonight in Detroit. We imagine things are going to get loud, hot and maybe even a little sweaty.
Traditional Victorian costuming meets fierce feminine muses for Chopova Lowena SS25. Cowgirls, showgirls, and can-can dancers were all infused with rebellious punk twist. Big attitude, even bigger ruffles. As nu-metal and drum and bass blared out of the speakers of The Ditch in Shoreditch, models walked down the runway so fast that embellishments literally flew off them in every direction. Topping things off were bags stuffed with jars of mayonnaise, because why not. Chopova Lowena has our heart, always.
Elliot Page will speak at tomorrow’s Gender Liberation March in DC. The Gender Liberation March will host its inaugural event outside of the Supreme Court tomorrow to ensure demands on abortion access and gender-affirming care are heard. Alongside Elliot, the rally will feature speeches from many other celebrities and activists, as well as from trans youth and their parents, immigrants, climate change activists, abolitionists, and everyday people who receive or are in need of access to abortion and gender-affirming care.

FKA twigs’ durational art piece is launching in London this weekend. To celebrate the release of her new single “Eusexua”, the artist will be hosting and performing a movement piece at London’s Sotheby’s Gallery every day for the next two weeks. Conceived by the multi-disciplinary artist over several months, The Eleven will display the full range of twigs’ artistic vision and capabilities. Performed by twigs alongside a rotating group of eleven ‘movers’, the piece will explore the artist’s “physical and artistic quest for self-healing, rooted in her decades spent in movement practice, somatic healing technique and by implementing conscious action on repeat.” If you’re in the Big Smoke, you’ll be able to catch the show (for free!) from tomorrow until 26 September.
