Last month we introduced you to “the Brooklyn teen living in LA, writing lesbian love songs and gaining fans like Harry Styles as the world falls at her feet.” King Princess had stormed into our lives and onto music radars the world over with her debut single 1950, which has racked up over 30 million streams in just two months. Surprise surprise, the 19-year-old formally known as Mikaela Straus is back with another winner. Her second single, Talia, out now on Mark Ronson’s label Zelig (to which she is the first ever signing), just got the music video treatment.

Directed by long-time collaborator Clare Gillen and edited by LA pal Amandla Stenberg, it’s all very 2007’s Lars and the Real Girl starring Ryan Gosling. Mikaela hugs, loves and hangs with a dolled up sexdoll in a low-lit hotel room and beyond. “Everyone has different ways of dealing with heartbreak,” Mikaela said about the song. “This was mine, and I hope it helps somebody else in the same way.”
