It’s almost that time of year where the UK music industry migrates south to Brighton for The Great Escape; a weekend of networking, new music and old hangovers. The second item on that list is the best, which is why we’re super excited to announce that — for the second year running — we’ll have an i-D stage at the festival we keep calling the UK’s answer to SXSW.
In 2017, we hosted exciting new acts like Sälen, Cosima, Nilufer Yanya, ShitKid and The Rhythm Method in an old church hall, and honestly, it ruled.
For 2018 we’re relocating to seafront venue Coalition on Thursday 17 May for a night of awesome music from i-D Class of 2018 artists Kai Whiston and Mahalia, as well as Norwegian techno-pop angels Sassy 009, South London band Sorry, R&B singer-songwriter Joy Crookes and pop music’s bright new hope, Rina Sawayama. Rina has incredible stage costumes, full routines and backing dancers. What more could you possibly want?
