To celebrate his 17 defining years as Chief Creative Officer at Burberry, Christopher Bailey has gifted us with a long, nostalgic playlist of the sounds that defined his time at the storied house. And boy, is it good! Celebrating the label’s strong ties to the music industry, the mix includes over two hundred songs which have soundtracked the brand’s runways, parties and programs for almost two decades.

The collection also, as Bailey explains, serves as a celebration of “the incredible roster of musicians that have helped shape my time at Burberry”. Including songs played on Burberry runways by artists like Adele, Elton John, Elvis Costello and Birdy, there’s also tunes from faves like Pet Shop Boys, Eurythmics, David Bowie, Fleetwood Mac and The Cure. The series also focuses on musical brand ambassadors such as Tom Odell, James Bay, Paloma Faith, Jake Bug and George Ezra.

In the final days leading to his last Burberry show, which is to be dedicated to lgbtq+ youth, next week, 17 Years of Soundtracks commemorates Christopher Bailey’s ongoing commitment to the arts. While it hasn’t yet been announced where the designer will go next, at least we now know what he’ll be listening to on his break.

You can find the playlist on Apple Music with further music being added incrementally leading up to Bailey’s final Burberry show on Saturday February 17th at 5pm GMT.
