It’s all change over here as Field Day follows the lead of absolutely everyone we know and moves from their longstanding Victoria Park location down south to leafy Brockwell Park. Having downsized from the full weekend to a solo day last year, for 2018 we’re back to double the fun across 1-2 June with a killer line-up that (after an accidental leak over the weekend) was officially announced this morning.
Let’s get down to the good stuff. Marking her only UK performance this year, neo-soul legend Erykah Badu will headline on Friday, playing after the likes of Madlib, Obongjayar and Loyle Carner. Saturday, meanwhile, boasts an epic selection of artists including AJ Tracey, Avalon Emerson, Fever Ray (a UK festival exclusive), Mount Kimbie, SASSY 009, Willow, Thundercat and Princess Nokia. Damn.
Readers who attended Field Day last year will likely still be dreaming about the sound quality of The Barn, the massive hanger that popped up for the first time to host the Aphex Twin headline set. The foreboding laser-filled structure will be back in June to perfect performances from Floating Points, Nils Frahm, Four Tet and more. See you there?
