Fast forward a little and BRITS Critics’ Choice nominated Mabel has teamed up with Not3s again on Fine Line, a song with a seriously SIA chorus about staying in control as you dive headfirst into a new relationship.
Having bonded (probably) over a mutual love of MØ, Cashmere Cat and Major Lazer have joined forces on the bouncy Palmistry-sampling Miss You with bonus vocals from Canadian rapper Tory Lanez. How fun. Also fun is the epic 88rising fest 18 (feat. Trippie Redd and Baauer) by Kris Wu, Joji and recently renamed Rich Brian. After a massive trap party, the whole thing switches up halfway through and mellows down Joji-style. On the same 88 flex now, China’s biggest rap crew Higher Brothers just dropped their Journey To The West EP that boasts not just one, but two Ski Mask The Slump God features. Being fashion people, our favourite track is Chanel.
Troye Sivan slows it down now, with a sweet acoustic ballad called Good Side. What with this and last week’s My My My! we’re seriously looking forward to the album he’s teasing out. According to a Beats 1 interview with Zane this week, this one’s about how in a break-up there’s always one person who comes out on top. Sucks to be the other one. More news: Vol 1 of Rejjie Snow’s Dear Annie emerged overnight, and we’re impressed. Egyptian Luvr, featuring Aminé and Dana Williams, rules over the four tracks with smooth foot-tapping, hip-swinging, production from Kaytranada.
LIZ of LIZ Y2K fame is back and has rightfully crowned herself Queen of Me. We’re not totally sold on the rap part but the whole thing is totally poptastic and more deserving of a place in our playlist than Kylie Minogue’s new Dancing, which we’re ending on because, well, she’s the original Kylie.
