Nicki Minaj made you a mixtape! Celebrating the awesome talent that has come out of Queens, New York, Minaj has compiled 40 tracks covering the rich hip-hip history of her hometown. The playlist, which is on Tidal, opens with three of Nicki’s own tracks, then cycles through music by Nas, Run DMC, LL Cool J, Salt N Pepa, Q-Tip and A Tribe Called Quest, Lost Boys, Ja Rule, Mobb Deep, 50 Cent, G Unit and more. “S/O to all the Queens artists from every decade reppin! Queens Get Da Money!!!!!!” Minaj wrote on Instagram.
The tape is being read as a further diss to Remy Ma, who hasn’t had a great week, with her original Minaj diss “shETHER” being taken off streaming platforms reportedly at the request of Universal, who she apparently hadn’t cleared the use of Nas’s Ether beat with. Minaj kicking the playlist off with “No Frauds,” her track with Drake and Lil Wayne responding to Ma’s diss tracks, definitely adds fuel to that fire.
