Netflix has released its trailer for the second season of Judd Apatow’s all too real anti-romcom Love, starring Paul Rust and Gillian Jacobs. Rust returns as the nerdy not-so-nice guy Gus, whose life becomes slightly more complicated when he finds himself falling for the self-destructive Mickey, played by Jacobs.
The show’s highly acclaimed first season left off on Mickey facing up to the reality of her addictions, and it looks like season two is exploring her effort to get help. “I’m trying to keep taking things slowly,” she explains her roommate Bertie (played by the criminally underrated Australian actress Claudia O’Doherty), as it cuts to a shot of her and Gus having sex in a parking lot.
While neither of the central characters are classic romantic leads, we’re personally backing the far from perfect couple, and hope they can make things work. It’s nice to see a show face up to the messy anxiety at the centre of most love stories.
Love second season is set for release March 10th, and the series was recently renewed for a third season.
