At the end of a big year, we asked people how they’re working for a brighter 2017.

What are you wearing head to toe?
Homie Hat, Trashworld Long-sleeve, Armani Exchange Vintage Jacket (probs not real tho lol), Wooly Grandpa Slacks from Salvos, Trashworld Socks and Puma Suedes.

Define your style?
Flamboyant Swag.

What’s your favourite place in the world?
Showers, they’re cosy and efficient.

How do you feel Australia will be affected by everything going down in the US?
Economically, if the US goes into a trade war with China, the global economy could suffer, including here.

Socially, the rise of far right populism and spread of misinformation is seeing polarisation in socio-politics and a great divide globally — see, Brexit, One Nation, etc.

Environmentally, Trump’s support for coal and natural gas and the US’s consumption rate could make the global climate agreements very hard to achieve and could have vastly adverse effects for vulnerable nations.

Immigration, Trump’s stance on immigration could very well be replicated globally, although Australia’s resettlement program for people seeking asylum, is particularly cruel and heinous to begin with.

Do you plan on making any changes in your own life following the election results?
Maybe to try and be as inclusive and intersectional across the board. Resist oppressive structures but remain as loving to all as possible, including those opposed to myself or my views

How can we make the world a better place?
Be as sustainable and conscientious in every thought and action, think not only for yourself but for your fellow living beings

How would you sum up 2016?
A clusterfuck, thrilling, fun, terrifying but hopeful.
