Faithless are set to headline a bill that includes Jon Hopkins, Eats Everything, Daphni and Skream on the first night of Rave for Refugees at Brixton Electric on Thursday 8 December, followed by Shy FX, Rudimental, Chase & Status and Sigma a week later on 15 December.

“We want to support the incredible work that Help Refugees are doing in terrible circumstances for those whose lives have been shattered by war & conflict,” Faithless comment. “Some of the best artists on our scene feel the same way – so we joined together & invite you to these two special events: Rave for Refugees – Choose Love – We come 1.”

“We are incredibly proud to be supporting the charity Help Refugees in their formidable effort to help the plight of thousands of refugees around the world,” Chase & Status add. “Rave for Refugees is an amazing chance for the music industry to come together and support a much needed cause through two amazing club nights.”

The events will raise money for Help Refugees, a grassroots humanitarian organisation started by a group of friends in 2015 in response to the refugee crisis. Beginning as a social media campaign with the modest aim of raising £1000 and driving a van of donations to Calais, within a week donations reached £56,000 and they were receiving 7,000 packages of donated goods a day. “After just one month Help Refugees was the number one provider of aid to the unofficial refugee camps in Calais and Dunkirk,” their website explains, adding that, “It is now the largest distributor of aid among all grassroots organisation in Europe, funding 65 projects including projects in 22 camps in Greece as well as camps and settlements in Paris, Turkey, Syria and Lebanon.”

Help Refugees co-founder Lliana Bird says, “We are heartened that so many of these incredible artists are coming together to help the most vulnerable people on Europe’s shores. There are still 60,000 refugees stuck in Greece, including 24,000 children and 9,000 pregnant women and they will need all the help they can get to survive the cold winter ahead”.

i-D recommend going the extra mile and wearing a Choose Love T-shirt by iconic protest fashion designer Katharine Hamnett. It looks cool and also raises money for Help Refugees — you know what to do.

Tickets go on sale Friday 11 November at 9am, and are available here.
