Beth Ditto has released the second collection from her eponymous plus-size label, Beth Ditto. The autumn/winter 2016 range dropped online today, accompanied by a super fun look book starring Instagram heroes @damn.dandy@isabel_hendrix and Ditto herself. Angelic i-D regular Hanna Moon shot the story and street-cast the models with stylist Charles Jeffrey.

In conversation with Vogue, the former Gossip frontwoman admitted that she took too much on with the first collection. This time, she’s stepped back and handed the design reigns (in part) to longtime friend Frédéric Baldo. “My know-how is my body and bodies like mine. A designer’s know-how is fabric and patterns and how to realise a vision,” she explained. “Because Frédéric is a great friend and we’re really close, we can be really honest with each other. Plus he’s not afraid to say no.”

Beth also stressed that the collection has no investors or backers: the endeavour is entirely her own. It’s risky, but so far it’s paying off. “I wanted to create something all its own, something just for us…as a small company with no corporate input,” she writes on her website.

Ditto cites her own experience on the red carpet as another reason she’s now so passionate about design. The singer recounts “stylists bringing nothing but sheets to drape me in, designers sending oversize pieces meant for thin people with armholes sized for a zero” at the height of her Gossip fame. Ditto wants her line to reflect all the things she wanted to wear back then but simply couldn’t, without having another designer make a one-off, custom piece.

Ditto’s collection is available in sizes 14 to 28. Check out our favourite shots below, and find it here.
