Hot on the heels of the release of their inaugural print mag, as part of the V&A’s Friday Late series, online magazine and collective gal-dem have been invited to the museum to offer a exciting night of talks, conversations, workshops and more, all with a lineup made up of over 50 women of colour.
Our highlights include the black and middle eastern history tours, taking how some of the V&A’s permanent collections relate to women of colour, A.G, DJ Darkstepper, Souljah, Flohio and Melz will be representing for the females in grime in a series of sets and i-D’s Deputy Editor will be in conversation with Art Director Lotte Andersen about the challenges in finding self-confidence and your inner voice.
And exciting news, tomorrow’s evening of events is one of two parts of the collaboration with gal-dem as the V&A prepares for an East London outpost in 2021, part two of the collaboration will take place in February 2017 at a yet to be announced location close to the V&A site. We will see you there!
