Fresh off her collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger, Gigi Hadid has teamed up with shoe designer Stuart Weitzman to create a signature boot. If that wasn’t buzzy enough, they’ve roped in expert team player James Franco to direct the campaign video, titled “Do It Right.” The two-minute clip sees Gigi working out at a boxing gym and facing off against a masked opponent — all while wearing her new signature lace up heels. They were apparently inspired by hunting boots, so maybe she thought it wouldn’t be such an orthopedic stretch.
The model said of the project, “These designs have the ability to go from sexy to sporty, and they have an agility to them but a gracefulness at the same time.” A sentiment she tested during the 12-hour shoot. While boxing for a whole day would be undoubtedly gruelling, even for a jock like Gigi, she stressed that Franco was supportive throughout, “I was obviously so tired toward the end of the shoot, and James was just super positive, and told me to embrace whatever I was feeling at that moment.” For the record, she has clarified that she doesn’t recommend actually wearing the heels to the gym.
Stuart Weitzman has also stated that in celebration of the collaboration he’s pledging to build three schools in Ghana, Guatemala, and Laos with the charity Pencils of Promise.
