Björk has revealed an short teaser for her latest virtual reality masterpiece, a new video created with long-term collaborator Andrew Thomas Huang for the Vulnicura track “Family.” Huang has previously worked with Björk on the VR film for “Stonemilker,” which saw the artist dance around the viewer in a wintery beach scene shot outside of Reykjavik; and “Black Lake,” shot in black, rocky caves and mossy fields in Iceland.
In the short teaser, “Family” appears to be further from the natural world than their earlier collaborations, with Björk appearing as a glowing outline, then multicolored computer-generated silhouette in a shimmering digital world of light and dark.
The full VR film for “Family” is on show at the Björk Digital exhibition, which finished its run in London this week and has now moved on to the DHC / Art Foundation for Contemporary Art in Montreal, Canada, until November 12.
