Zayn Malik has lived many lives in his short 23 years on planet earth: from Bradford schoolboy to British TV star, then worldwide heart-throb and breakaway solo artist, we’re sure he has a great deal of stories to tell — and tell them he will. The singer has inked a deal with Penguin Random House to publish a photographic memoir entitled ZAYN.
“I’m going to show you as much as I can so that you can judge me on my own terms,” Malik wrote in a press release, “not on what the press or anyone else says.” Penguin Random House say the book will primarily be composed of never-before-seen photographs of Zayn at every stage of his career. There will also be drawings, song lyrics, and personal stories. They’ve promised “the intimate and raw scrapbook” will cover his childhood, his time traveling the globe with One Direction, and his choice to break out on his own.
It’s not the only storytelling gig he’s picked up lately either. He’s also joined Law & Order creator Dick Wolf to create a television project based on his experiences in the world’s most famous boy band. When the news was announced, Zayn called Wolf “a legend,” and said “the opportunity to work with him and NBC to create a compelling drama series is awesome.” Seems like Zayn is aiming for total world domination. We’re cool with it.
ZAYN will be available November 1st.
