The rarely heard 50-minute freestyle from 1997 is now online thanks to Tim Westwood.

1997 was the year that Wu Tang Clan released its second album, Wu-Tang Forever, cementing its nine members as a group of the most unique and thought-provoking writers and performers of their generation. 1997 was also the year that the group traveled to London and recorded a 50-minute freestyle that has since been buried.

Today however, nineteen years on, British radio DJ Tim Westwood has dusted off the tapes and uploaded the important rap document to SoundCloud for the world’s listening pleasure.

Hit play to step back in time and hear Ol’ Dirty Bastard, RZA, GZA, Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa, and Cappadonna do truly wonderful things with words.
