Jenny from the block is taking a break from her Las Vegas residency to head back into acting, and she’s not taking on a simple project. She’s signed on to play the leading role in a gritty HBO biopic about Griselda Blanco, the powerful Columbian cartel leader who flooded America with cocaine in the 70s and 80s. According to Variety, J-Lo will also serve as executive producer.
In a statement Jennifer detailed her longtime interest in Griselda; “I’ve been fascinated by the life of this corrupt and complicated woman for many years.” Fair enough: Griselda was allegedly the most powerful female cartel member ever, known to many as the “cocaine godmother.” This won’t be the first time Jennifer has immortalised a latin icon. It was her turn in the 1997 Selena biopic that originally brought her to fame.
We’re sure we’re gonna love this biopic J-Lo, but please try and find the time to record another Luh Ya Papi too.
