The new Suicide Squad movie might be generating some pretty mixed reviews, but one part of the film that’s unquestionably excellent is its soundtrack. The all-star track list is a solid mix of new and previously released music, including artists like Skrillex, Ty Dolla $ign, Lil Wayne, Kehlani, Kevin Gates, and Grimes, who announced on Twitter in June that her contribution would be a track called “Medieval Warfare.” The alt-pop fairy princess has finally released it via Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 radio show, telling the host that she was “openly weeping” when she was called to contribute to Suicide Squad, and that she watched the trailer “at least 20 or 30 times” before starting to write. The result is a mix of droning, distorted guitars and hectic trap-like arrangements overlaid with her signature ethereal vocals. “Are you bad? Are you ugly?” she sings. “Can you kill a man with your hands? Are you hard? Do you want me? Think I won’t understand?”

Don’t expect Grimes to make movie contributions a regular thing. “Everyone I know who’s ever done it brutally hated it and highly recommends against it,” she told Lowe. “So now I feel a bit more fearful of it. Literally everyone I know who’s done it has extreme vitriol and says things like, ‘I wasted three years of my life.'” Instead she’s dedicating her time to training (seriously) for her favorite competition, the UFC.
