Alongside Section Boyz, the masked Brixton Hill-based outfit 67 is leading the charge in genre-defining UK music. The self-professed UK Drillaz take influence from Chicago drill, trap, grime, and rap, resulting in an amalgamation of menacing music that uses a plethora of inventive allusions to reflect on road life.
Today, i-D premieres “5AM Vamping,” another addition to the group’s arresting arsenal of sinister sonics, which has also included “Lets Lurk,” a collaboration with Peckham’s finest Giggs.
As the quintet state on “5AM,” “shooters, trappers and peng tengs” all love their tunes — and we do, too. “5AM Vamping” precedes a forthcoming mixtape due from the crew in September. Press play on “5AM Vamping” and prepare to bask in 67’s South London soaked dawn chorus.
