From Fox’s Empire to HBO’s Vinyl, TV has been awash with America’s musical past lately. Now, New York City’s early 90s hip-hop scene is being highlighted via TBS’s new series Think B.I.G. The scripted comedy will reportedly be loosely based on the lyrics of The Notorious B.I.G., and his narrative as an inner-city youth, fighting to build a positive future for his two kids. Think B.I.G. is a part of a larger deal that TBS has with media collective Mass Appeal, which boasts such names as Run The Jewels and Boldy James under the Nas-owned label conglomerate. Though the plot basically pulls directly from “Juicy,” we’re wondering how Biggie’s lesser known lyrics will pop into the series — hopefully the protagonist will wear white with black Timbs and a black hoodie, eating solely flapjacks and bacon. Details on the series are minimal, but with Nas overseeing the project, the result should be all good, baby baby.

Twenty years after Biggie’s death, his lyrics still inspire generations of aspiring artists. The rapper’s legacy is already larger than life, but hopefully, Think B.I.G. will hold true to his message.
