The shrimps are on the barbie, the smell of freshly cut grass is wafting your way, and your ice lolly is beginning to melt (read: you’re about to pass out on the tube because you literally can’t handle the heat). Summer has arrived. And what better way to celebrate it than with British designer Anna Laub. After a hugely successful career as a style editor, Anna founded her sunglasses label PRISM in 2009, expanding into beachwear some years later. Forever chasing the sun, here we talk the designer about all things summer.

What’s the one thing that gets you in the mood for summer?
Ice lollies.
How will you be spending your summer holiday?
Trying to holiday as much as possible – trying out all my products – going to Bali and Bossegor, Biarrtiz.
What is the best thing to do in London, if you can’t make it abroad for summer?
Go to Hampstead Heath or the countryside and find a pool!
What’s the best holiday you’ve ever been on?
Costa Rica, Jamaica, Bali – there’ve been a few that compete – but all the same ingredients: a beautiful, super chilled place with the best people.
What’s your song of the summer?
Chronixx – Smile.
Beach or sea?
I like the coastline – so sea I guess?

Banana Boats or parasailing?
Parasailing – I love a view.
Doughnuts or beach volleyball?
Doughnuts! I’m definitely a lazy beachgoer.
If you could send a postcard from abroad to one person in the world who would it be and why?
My son Lucien!
What summer items would you not be caught dead without?
My PRISM sunglasses – hides a tyranny of sins.

What’s your summer must have this season?
My PRISM sandals. They are literally more comfortable than flipflops I cant take them off.
What’s your favourite way to spend a balmy summer evening?
In the garden, drinking rosé, eating BBQ – chatting with friends.
What would your dream summer holiday be?
A month, or even the whole summer, in a huge house with all my friends and family coming and going – in Positano, Italy or Biarritz, France – making delicious food, popping down to the beach and whiling away the evenings drinking, eating and chatting.
