Over the decades, skate culture has grown into something bigger than the act of skateboarding itself, overlapping with art, fashion, music, film, and photography, all of which are subjects that have played a vital part in the ever-changing scene. Photographer Ian Kenneth Bird has been documenting the skate community in London for the last two and a half years, capturing his observations of what brings these people together. Out of this, Bird has selected a series of personal works for Don’t Know What I Want But I Want It Now, an exhibition including intimate portraits, DIY skate spots, and homemade tattoos alongside everything that makes skate culture what it is today.
