Though Balenciaga pre-fall was actually designed by an in-house team before Demna Gvasalia’s debut for the house last season, the collection it looks very him — something tells us he had a hand in it all. In its just released lookbook images, the beautiful, patrician visages of Stella Tennant, Julia Nobis, and Marland Backus peek out from from oversized hoodies and shearlings. BALENCIAGA is emblazoned across collars.
The eagle-eyed amongst you might also recognize archive prints most recently used during Nicolas Ghesquiere’s tenure as the Spanish house’s creative director. Oh, and the models sport some very Vetements thigh high boots as they lurk around racks suggesting the Balenciaga archive. It’ll be interesting to see what the designer does when he’s really got his teeth into Cristobal’s oeuvre.
