If we ever gain access to the infamous, temperature-controlled, official Beyoncé Visual Archives, one of the first things we’re looking for is the “lost” music video that Queen Bey filmed with Alicia Keys for their collaborative 2010 single “Put It in a Love Song.” The single flopped on the radio, and its official release was pushed back so that “Un-Thinkable (I’m Ready)” could be brought forward as the fourth single from Keys’ 2009 album, The Element of Freedom. But not before a very expensive music video was shot in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. According to paparazzi photos on Google Images, the decision not to release the video was a crippling blow to both music and fashion.
In a new interview, Keys has sort-of explained why this decision was made, which of course has only fueled the world’s collective need to see this lost masterpiece.

“We had a ball in the studio, we had a ball doing the video, which was crazy in Brazil, it was outrageous… You saw pictures,” she said. “But you know it just didn’t quite… the video didn’t quite capture the energy that I think that we really intended it to and we just felt like it was better to just hold it, so we did that… Maybe one day it will be like some old secret…”
She then hints that they may one day release the video on Tidal. Of course they would.
