Where are you from?
Paul: Adelaide born and bred, I love it here.
Adam: Born in Adelaide but grew up in New Delhi, India and Virginia, USA.
What do you do?
Paul: I’m a graphic designer by trade and I own Archie & Co, a hair salon and coffee shop, with Adam.
Adam: Hairdresser at our salon and coffee shop—I own it with Paul.
What are you wearing from head to toe?
Paul: Hair by Archie & Co, ATG T-shirt, Rolla’s jeans and customised Demonia creepers.
Adam: Vintage flannel shirt, Zanerobe shorts and vintage Redwings.
What are you listening to on repeat right now?
Paul: Shamir’s 2015 album Ratchet, it’s joyous and shady all at once!
Adam: Sludgefest byChipmunks on 16 Speed.
Where would you take us during the day if we came to visit you in your city? And when night falls?
Paul: We’d go exploring through the Parklands (maybe a picnic lunch in the Himeji Garden), then dinner at Mandoo (best bibimbap in Adelaide) and beers at the Exeter on Rundle Street.
Adam: Day: The Art Gallery of SA then a walk by the Torrens River. Night, Dinner at Gondola Gondola then bands and dancing at Ancient Worlds.
If you could ask the world one question and get the answer, what would you ask?
Paul: Have we been visited by aliens? I wanna see the receipts.
Adam: Am I doing life right?
What’s the best thing about being young in 2016?
Paul: Young people lead the way in social change and that’s empowering. Today’s youth lead the way by example – a strong social conscience is something to be proud of and encouraged.
Adam: I think people are allowed to be who they are or want to be more than ever with lots of amazing progressions like the trans movement.
What do you do?
Peter: Artist and Film Maker.
Julie: I’m a fashion and textile designer. I run my own printed accessories label.
What are you wearing from head to toe?
Peter: Blue Hard Yakka work shirt, Black Dejour jeans and Parigi Brogues.
Julie: Dress by Romance Was Born x Linda Jackson, earrings by Kate Rohde, my own ‘Lizards of Oz’ scarf & socks and Spring Court sneakers.
What are you listening to on repeat right now?
Peter: That Piña Colada Song by Rupert Holmes. I enjoy very silly music.
Julie: I Die You Die by Gary Newman.
Where would you take us during the day if we came to visit you in your city? And when night falls?
Peter: Whatever Julie suggests.
Julie: A bush walk at Morialta Falls then dinner and drinks at Africola.
If you could ask the world one question and get the answer, what would you ask?
Peter: When will Julie actually have some free time?
Julie: Is the seagull that ate my gum OK? I was 4 and I still feel guilty.
What’s the best thing about being young in 2016?
Peter: Believing you have the answers to all the worlds oldest problems.
Julie: Pretending zucchini is a pasta.
What do you do?
Kate: I make sculptures, videos and installations.
Miranda: Studio director, Bookbinder and founder of Noun Movement Books.
What are you wearing from head to toe?
Kate: A leather jacket which I wear with pretty much everything. Op shop black t-shirt and skirt, stockings, socks, Docs. A couple of special rings: one that Miranda got me a couple of years ago that she designed with a Melbourne jeweler called Anastasia Grace. And one that my mum bought me while we were in Turkey when I was 14.
Miranda: Thrift shop beanie, Ray Bans, Rags, Doc Martens.
What are you listening to on repeat right now?
Kate: I’m revisiting a 2010 record of Laurie Anderson’s called Homeland. I especially like a track called Thinking of You.
Miranda: Q Lazzarus, Goodbye Horses.
Where would you take us during the day if we came to visit you in your city? And when night falls?
Kate: Probably some of the artist-run-galleries and experimental art spaces here. At night somewhere fun to eat and drink.
Miranda: The Pub. The Pub!
If you could ask the world one question and get the answer, what would you ask?
Kate: What kinds of conversations did people have with one another hundreds of years ago?
Miranda: World? Did someone step on a duck?
What’s the best thing about being young in 2016?
Kate: I feel like I can do most things I want.
Miranda: Everything.
Where are you from?
Haneen: I am a proud Adelaidean from Kuala Lumpur.
Lochy: Queensland; Australia’s Kentucky.
What do you do?
Haneen: Curator, Artist, Sculptor, Printmaker, General Do-er of All Things, Zombie Queen.
Lochy: Win arguments in the shower. And make theatre.
What are you listening to on repeat right now?
Haneen: Can’t Get Enough of Myself, Santigold
Lochy: The playlist at work. If my boss is reading this, I’d like to make it known I’m more of a ‘So Fresh’ kinda guy.
Where would you take us during the day if we came to visit you in your city? And when night falls?
Haneen: We would begin observing Burnside mums in their natural habitat, Burnside Village, then go for a wander around the gorgeous Adelaide East End with a coffee from Exchange and a Matcha from East End Providore before having a pre-Ancient World nap at the Botanic Gardens.
Lochy: I’d probably just drop you off at the zoo and pick you up a couple of hours later than we arranged like any good parent.
If you could ask the world one question and get the answer, what would you ask?
Haneen: Why do smoothie bowls exist? And, who said Comic Sans was ok?
Lochy: Where do boy bands go to die after their hit single fades in popularity? I imagine it’s like the elephant graveyard in The Lion King but balder, fatter and with more alcoholism. If someone could clear that up, that’d be great.
What’s the best thing about being young in 2016?
Haneen: I get to be a total menace and still somehow get things done. ILY social media!
Lochy: I dunno. Game of Thrones is pretty cool.
