As reported on tech site DigitalSpy.com Friday, Mark Ronson has just affirmed that he’ll be collaborating on a long-awaited album: “I’ve come back to L.A. for a little bit and I’m gonna go in the studio and start working with Lady Gaga,” says “Uptown Funk” producer Ronson.
Interestingly, Gaga and Ronson were neighbors as kids: “I grew up in New York on the Upper West Side, she did too,” he points out. Saying that he respects her a lot because she is an old-school musical pro, Ronson added, “She loves just sitting at a piano and barking orders at a drummer and she has an incredible voice.”
This isn’t the very first time these two talents have collaborated, however. Gaga guested on a Wale track that Ronson produced back in 2009. “We just spent some time in the studio when she was in London. I know her from just before she got really massive, when she came and sang a song on a Wale record I worked on called ‘Chillin.’ “
“She’s one of the great voices in pop music, so we’re going to start with the songs and go from there,” says Ronson.
