Showcased against the brick-red bar of London’s Soho’s Union Club, set in a the 270-year-old Georgian townhouse, Le Kilt’s fall/winter 16 offering was a lesson in nonchalant back-to-school cool. Leaning against the bar, decked out with bouquets of vibrant flowers, moody models grouped together in varied incarnations of Sam McCoach’s iconic kilt. Lengths alternated from mid to mini, while colors ranged from MacLeod yellow, Wallace Red, and Mod Scott monochrome to olive-green, navy, white, and charcoal. In move towards ready-to-wear, there were leather jackets, knitted vests, blazers, cozy sweaters and short-sleeved silk shirts, while accessories were kept minimal at cute berets, creepers, and leather dog collars in what was a contemporary twist on 90s schoolgirl chic.
