The new week is here and with it comes the chance to delve deep into some fresh culture and fashion. Here’s your latest look at the i-D Guide.
Wear… Harry Lambert’s link-up with Zara
Responsible for shaping your boyfriend’s wardrobe without him even knowing it — such is the widespread impact of his work as Harry Styles’ stylist — Harry Lambert’s touch is finally spreading to clothes of his own design. His first collection with high street stalwarts Zara is a kitschy and exciting rundown of cropped knits, sweater vests and cowboy suits. Statement wear for a new era of ostentatious dressers. Buy it all on Zara.com and in stores from Monday 13 November.
Buy… True Photo Journal
The eighth issue of True, a photography journal that asks photographers — both with decades of experience and new to the scene — to “create, experiment [and] revisit”. The new issue features contributions from everybody from Lola & Pani — who have crafted a new series unpacking the semantics of youth culture with our own fateful leader Alastair McKimm — to Catherine Opie. Buy yours (£18) here.
Listen to… Spence Lee
A few years back, Spence Lee was hustling as a designer and stylist, selling clothes that he made to the likes of Heron Preston and Virgil Abloh, being undergoing a brief stint as a stylist for Rae Sremmurd. Now, he’s turned his focus to music: his new single as part of the super respected 88rising roster is aptly titled “White Tee”. Stream it above or follow his IG here.
Read… the Midsommar screenplay book
With an introduction from Park Chan-wook, A24’s latest instalment in their super coveted collection of hardback printed screenplays is none other than Ari Aster’s magnificent Midsommar. Buy it ($60) here.
Go to… Justen Leroy’s X’ene’s Witness
A continuation of his recent video and installation work Lay Me Down in Praise, which dealt with environmental racism during the climate crisis, artist Justin Leroy’s new project X’ene’s Witness takes the form of an opera. In it, a collective of Black vocalists emulate the screeches and cries of our burning world. It will be performed at the Marciano Art Foundation in Los Angeles on 17 and 18 November. Tickets can be bought here.
Eat at… LAVO
Between Skims and KHY, dressing like a Kardashian-Jenner is pretty well covered. Eating like one, though? Well, London-based readers, thanks to a new arrival right in the heart of town, now that is, too! Bringing West Hollywood sparkle to W1, LAVO is a must for anyone keen on a bit of KUWTK cosplay, offering sophisticated coastal Italian fare in resplendent, foliage-filled surrounds. From zingy, caviar-speckled tagliatelle agli agrumi to a cultishly adored double-fist-sized wagyu meatball and 20-layered chocolate cake, the menu gives wanton decadence and glam — think: what Kim, Khloe and Kendall would order on cheat day. That said, there’s an ample selection of dressy salads, not to mention single-source, wholegrain pizzas for anyone staving of simple carbs ahead of the festive binge. So what are waiting for? Get your ass up and get a fucking table at LAVO!
