If you’ve got a wardrobe bursting with Balmain and your mini-me is feeling left out, tell them to cry no more. Olivier Rousteing announced today that Balmain is launching a children’s line, which will be available this coming June. Sure, it won’t be to everyone’s taste (or budget, with price points ranging from $200 – 6000), but what could be cuter than matching double-breasted blazers and gold toe-cap Chelsea boots for father and son?
The 55 piece collection — which will include key moments from Rousteing’s five year archive — will include Japanese denim jeans, pea coats, a white tuxedo jacket, a fur coat, an embroidered cavalry jacket and a zebra-patterned top. An edit of shoes straight from the runway will be shrunk to fit even the smallest of feet.
“These are the same looks that, over the years, moms and dads have repeatedly pleaded with me to produce for their kids,” Rousteing tells WWD. With the collection sized for boys and girls aged six to 14, we’re pretty sure Kim Kardashian will be crossing her fingers for North to have a growth spurt; the eldest Kardashian-West still has another three years before she can rock Rousteing’s little looks.
