Madonna has called out several gossip websites after they claimed she was drunk on stage during her recent Rebel Heart Tour gig in Louisville, Kentucky. Responding to the reports on Instagram, the famously disciplined singer wrote: “For those people who like to believe all they read, I never drink and perform!!! My show is 2 hours and 15 minutes of non stop singing and dancing.”
Madonna went on to point out the inherent sexism in these reports, explaining: “In Louisville I made a joke about doing a stand up comedy act dressed as a clown and being able to drink alcohol. Its so very interesting how society continues to not only treat me in a totally sexist way (if i a were a man no one would have said a thing) and also continue to take everything i say literally!”
“Thats what happens when people don’t read books and get all information from TMZ,” she added, name-checking the infamous US gossip website which had run an article claiming she was “a lil’ trashed” during her Louisville show. Every night on Madonna’s Rebel Heart Tour, she tells the audience, “No one fucks with the queen!” It’s clear now that she really means it.
