AN-TI
noun
1. A person opposed to a particular policy, activity or idea.
So goes the dictionary description of the new title of Rihanna’s upcoming album. The singer just unveiled artwork for #R8 (as it’s also dubbed), on which she’s collaborated with artist Roy Nachum and has “changed the history of album art.” “By continuing to follow her own instincts, her work strives to make an impact by doing the very antithesis of what the public expect,” a statement read.

Nachum isn’t a widely known artist by museum standards, but is said to be collected by Jay Z, Sir Phillip Green, Leonardo DiCaprio, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz. The image they’ve worked on together reportedly uses an image of Rihanna as a child as its base, with a too-big crown on that’s slipping over her eyes to create a blindfold. There’s blood red paint (meant to be actual blood?) dripping across the piece and the artist’s signature use of braille. Watch this space for more info as we get it. For now though, feast on some images that are set to be everywhere as #ANTI or #R8 becomes fall/winter’s biggest album release.
