Givenchy may be a luxury brand that oozes exclusivity, but at their latest show in New York on Friday night, they opened their fashion week extravaganza to 1,200 members of the public. Winners of the house’s lottery, New York fashion students and local residents rubbed shoulders with Anna Wintour, Debbie Harry and Kimye. Now following suit is French designer Simon Porte Jacquemus, who is inviting fans to head to the “I want to come to the show” section of his site and apply for a spot at the Jacquemus show during Paris Fashion Week by simply entering an email address.
Registration is open until Thursday, September 24, and the winners of the spring/summer 16 tickets will be announced on Friday, September 25. If you’re applying from outside of Paris, make sure you can get yourself to the show there on Tuesday, September 29 at 7pm. Is this part of a genuine move towards the democratization of the catwalk, or a trend that we’ll soon see the back of?
