Fresh from appearing in Janet Jackson’s first video in six years, J Cole takes a trip to Jamaica in a new short film from Bally to promote their collaboration collection of hiking boots and backpacks. The film sees Cole go “off the grid,” away from technology, writing music with a pen and paper, and playing acoustic instruments including a piano in Bob Marley’s legendary Tuff Gong Studios in Kingston, and an acoustic guitar.
“I always had an interest in what goes into designing footwear,” J Cole says. “Fortunately, the opportunity presented itself and I got the chance to work with such a well-respected brand with a long history of making product of the highest quality. When I learned more about the company’s past and was able to see their archives of boots going back over a 100 years, it excited me even more,” he added.
