Cara Delevingne’s burgeoning acting career takes another step forward this Friday when Paper Towns, her most high-profile film to date, arrives in theaters. Based on the young adult novel of the same name by The Fault in Our Stars author John Green, it’s a coming-of-age story involving romance, mystery and a road trip that’s expected to prove especially popular among teenage girls.

However, the award-winning Burberry, Chanel and D&G model has hit back at suggestions that her 15.8 million Instagram followers may have helped her to land the film’s female lead. “I work really hard, I don’t want anyone to ever think that this is a fluke or I got this because of my social media presence,” Delevingne told Reuters at the film’s New York premiere. “I’ve wanted to act ever since I was a child. It’s one of my biggest dreams. Living your dream is very emotional, I’m very happy.”

Delevingne is currently filming Suicide Squad, a super-villain movie co-starring Jared Leto, Margot Robbie and Will Smith that’s set to open in theaters worldwide in August 2016.
