The Serpentine Gallery’s pavilion, designed by Madrid architects SelgasCano, is the site for Park Nights, a series of events held throughout the summer, supported by COS. Last night, nu-R&B duo Lion Babe performed, and from now until September, there will be other music, dance, art and literature events happening in and around the playful, plenty-coloured, polygonal space.
Julia Peyton-Jones, Director, and Hans Ulrich Obrist, Co-Director, Serpentine Galleries said, “With the Pavilion as its crucible, the Serpentine’s Park Nights series has gained a reputation for interdisciplinary alchemy: bringing music, art, science, performance and dance together in a unique architectural space, with often dream-like results. With more stellar participants in the works, we look forward hugely to seeing how such different artists will each transform SelgasCano’s colourful, chrysalis-like design for this year’s Pavilion.”
