When asked a in an interview she recently posted on her Facebook page if she felt the sexual references in her music could undermine her work, Lady Gaga put the interviewer in his place by asking, “I’m not scared. Are you scared?”

Gaga has never shied away from using her platform to advocate for a broader discussion around how beauty, sexuality, and gender should be defined. When the interviewer pressed on to ask about her relationship with the queer community she bit back with, “I love them so much because they don’t ask me questions like that. Because they love sexual strong women who speak their mind.”

“You see, if I was a guy and I was sitting here with a cigarette in my hand, grabbing my crotch and talking about how I make music because I love fast cars and fucking girls, you’d call me a rockstar,” Gaga continued, explaining, “But when I do it in my music and in my videos, because I’m a female, because I make pop music, you’re judgemental and you say that it is distracting”.  After deftly shutting down the line of sexist questioning, she ends by reminding everyone, “I’m just a rockstar.”
