Sibling, David Koma, Holly Fulton, Marios Schwab, palmer//harding, Emilia Wickstead, Mother of Pearl, Prism and Sophia Webster have been announced as the nine London fashion labels who will receive support from the British Fashion Council’s 2015 Fashion Trust. The award offers business mentoring and a fund of £300,000 split between the winners. BFC Chief Exec Caroline Rush said, “The generous support from the BFC Fashion Trust will see important financial awards go to nine of the UK’s talented designers. Their fashion labels have shown exciting growth and both individually and collectively their businesses reinforce the UK’s reputation for creative strength.”
The BFC have also announced a Graduate Traineeship Programme, which places BA and MA graduates in paid placements with designers showing at London Fashion Week. A pilot scheme was successfully run over the past year, with two Royal College of Art graduates placed with Roksanda and Erdem.”British fashion is recognised globally for its energy and inventiveness which is why we need to support the industry at grass roots,” say BFC Fashion Trust Co-chairs Tania Fares and Kim Hersov, adding that, “The Fashion Trust will continue to support talented designer labels so that the UK can continue to build the brands of the future.”
