The Swedish sad boy's new track is a tribute to one of music's most visionary label owners.

Over the weekend, Yung Lean released a video for his track Roses – a lo-res home footage style clip that features zoomed-in rolling shots of the artist in the sea, dedicated to label boss Barron Machat. Barron (the son of music lawyer Steven Machat) founded and headed up record label Hippos In Tanks that supported experimental artists such as Grimes, Arca, Hype Williams and James Ferraro. He passed away in April following a car accident.

The video is the Swedish rapper’s way of paying his respects to the avant-garde yet ambitious label founder who passed away recently. The YouTube description reads:

“IN Memory of Barron A Machat aka our own Stanley Kubrick. ♥ ♥ ♥”

A number of artists also paid tribute to Machat including Arca, who tweeted the following after his passing:
