    ​m. patmos scores international woolmark prize 2015

    Marcia Patmos, has scooped the Oscar of the knitwear world; the 2015 Women’s International Woolmark Prize.

    Announced yesterday at the annual awards ceremony in Beijing, New York-based knitwear designer M. Patmos was awarded the prize by a judging panel consisting of pop princess turned fashion goddess Victoria Beckham, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue China Angelica Cheung, Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Italia Franca Sozzani and esteemed fashion journalist Colin McDowell among others.

    Standing out in a search across 21 countries and in a line up of over 60 designers, including runners up; Augustin Teboul from Germany, V Major from China , STRATEAS.CARLUCCI from Australia and Bird on a Wire from Lebanon, Marcia carried on the triumph for American fashion, following Public School, who scooped the menswear prize in January.

    As well as major kudos Marcia will receive AU$100,000 and opportunity to be stocked in the biggest retail stores all over the world, from Harvey Nichols to JOYCE. “Thank you to The Woolmark Company for creating this great platform to support emerging designers,” says Marcia. “I am looking forward to seeing what happens as a result of this new opportunity.”
