Peppered among the likes of Lily Donaldson, Jessica Stam and Erin O’Connor – who have all made splashes with more than a few of their rare runway appearances this season – are the fresh faces whose stars are ever on the ascendant, likely to one day to settle in the same bit of infinite blue sky as Lily, Jessica and Erin. Here’s our pick of the new stars…
Lineisy Montero
We didn’t know her name before last week but we’ll never forget the face. Or the hair. Not only has she got a visage that could launch a thousand ships, in an industry where you’d find more white models with black appropriated hair than black models with their natural hair, Lineisy is a huge step in the right direction. Popping her fashion week cherry as a Prada exclusive this season, hers is the name on everyone’s lips.
Isabella Emmack
Much like Arizona Muse or Edie Campbell before her, 16-year-old Isabella Emmack spring boarded onto our radar when she took the plunge and lobbed off her waist-length locks for a punky crop. Fitting the mould perfectly for Alexander Wang’s autumn/winter 15 vision of black on black on black, her slicked, spiky hair, Isabella was second out in his New York show this season, and we haven’t been able to get her out of our heads since. Check out what she looked like pre-chop here.
Poppy Okotcha
With the face of a cherub and the body of a goddess, the gorgeous Poppy Okotcha reeled us in oh so easily! Popping up all over London Fashion Week, including our faves Shrimps, Vivienne Westwood, Marques’Almeida and Ryan Lo, we’re happy to be under her celestial spell for as long as she so desires…
Damaris Goddrie
Since J.W. Anderson put her in his Pre-Fall 15 lookbook, we haven’t been able to stop staring at Damaris Goddrie. Walking in his autumn/winter 15 show, she was also booked at Thomas Tait, Anya Hindmarch and Fendi this season. The girls are screaming, “short hair, don’t care,” this season!
Stella Lucia
Since she made her fashion week debut at GILES spring/summer 15, this Austrian dollface, who looks like Daphne Groeneveld’s long, lost, little sister, has taken New York, London, Milan and Paris by storm. Booking two exclusives with Givenchy and landing a spot alongside Mica Arganaraz and Imaan Hammam in Riccardo Tisci’s latest campaign, this pouty beaut won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.
